40 words you will never use vol. 2


Second edition of the compilation of words that most of us either never use or straight up don't know. Coming from my literary wanderings of the past 6 months here is 40 words you will never use volume two.

  1. Impervious  not allowing fluid to pass through
  2. Sagacious  having or showing keen mental discernment and good judgment
  3. Fornicate  have sexual intercourse.
  4. Excrescence  a distinct outgrowth on a human or animal body or on a plant
  5. Aberration  an unwelcome departure from what is normal, usual, or expected
  6. Insouciance  casual lack of concern; indifference
  7. Provenance  the place of origin or earliest known history of something
  8. Dilapidated  in a state of disrepair or ruin as a result of age or neglect.
  9. Confounding  acting against expectations
  10. Conspicuous  clearly visible
  11. Ramification  a consequence of an action or event
  12. Disavowal  deny any responsibility or support for
  13. Transience  lasting only for a short time; impermanent
  14. Disparagement  regard or represent as being of little worth
  15. Onerous  involving an amount of effort and difficulty that is oppressively burdensome
  16. Recalcitrant  having an obstinately uncooperative attitude toward authority or discipline
  17. Outre  unusual and startling
  18. Implacable  unstoppable
  19. Comeuppance  a punishment or fate that someone deserves
  20. Confluence  the junction of two rivers, esp. rivers of approximately equal width
  21. Ephemeral  lasting for a very short time
  22. Bequeath  leave (a personal estate or one's body) to a person or other beneficiary by a will
  23. Indignation  anger or annoyance provoked by what is perceived as unfair treatment
  24. Incestuous  Involving or guilty of incest
  25. Conduit  a channel for conveying water or other fluid
  26. Transcendent  beyond or above the range of normal or merely physical human experience
  27. Connivance  willingness to secretly allow or be involved in wrongdoing
  28. Heinous  utterly odious or wicked 
  29. Indefatigable  persisting tirelessly
  30. Obsequious  obedient or attentive to an excessive or servile degree
  31. Obeisance  deferential respect

  34. Sycophancy  a person who acts obsequiously toward someone in order to gain advantage
  35. Volubility  speaking or spoken incessantly and fluently
  36. Insatiable  impossible to satisfy
  37. Unruliness  disorderly and disruptive and not amenable to discipline or control
  38. Effeminacy  having or showing characteristics regarded as typical of a woman
  39. Vituperative  bitter and abusive
  40. Adamant  refusing to be persuaded or to change one's mind
